Choose with care智 sits closer to intelligence than to the grey-haired wisdom English often means. For wisdom earned by living, 慧 or the pair 智慧 lands better.

Cultural note慧 is very common in women's given names in Taiwan. On its own it may be read as somebody's name rather than as a concept.
