Choose with care怨 is unattractive in Chinese — it names someone who keeps score. Few readers will take it as a strength.
At small sizes9 strokes over a 心 base, wide and open. It reduces well; the problem is meaning, not legibility.
Cultural note恩怨 (favours and grudges) is a stock phrase in martial-arts fiction, so 怨 reads as unsettled scores waiting to be paid.
