Two versions of the same picture, and both are free with no account and no watermark. The first has no background at all, which is the one to send your artist — but a phone or computer photo viewer set to dark will show black strokes on dark grey and it can look like nothing downloaded. If that happens, use the second one: identical characters on a plain white background. Either way you get the characters on their own — the square and the faint guide lines you see above are not in the file. Each character is 1000px, so a two-character download is 2000×1000, and the script and layout are the ones you picked.

What is left when most of a thing is gone. Chinese picks a different character depending on whether the leftover is neutral or damaged.
Before you commit
Choose with care殘 is the obvious dictionary choice but it also means crippled and cruel. Take 餘 instead unless you specifically want the damaged sense.
Japanese残 is the everyday Japanese form. The traditional 殘 is understood there but reads as old-style or Chinese.
At small sizes餘 is fifteen strokes split left and right with a dense right side. It holds together better than 殘 does, but below roughly three centimetres the right side fills in.

Neutral and often positive - the 餘 of 有餘, having more than enough.
