Choose with care解放 is politically loaded. 解放軍 is the People's Liberation Army, and in mainland usage 解放 is dated to 1949, so it reads as a slogan more than a personal word.

Cultural note解脫 is what a Chinese reader would pick for personal liberation: freedom from craving, from grief, or from a life that had you trapped.
