ㄌㄞˊ ㄕˋ lái shì

Two versions of the same picture, and both are free with no account and no watermark. The first has no background at all, which is the one to send your artist — but a phone or computer photo viewer set to dark will show black strokes on dark grey and it can look like nothing downloaded. If that happens, use the second one: identical characters on a plain white background. Either way you get the characters on their own — the square and the faint guide lines you see above are not in the file. Each character is 1000px, so a two-character download is 2000×1000, and the script and layout are the ones you picked.

What comes after death. Chinese splits this into the next life you are born into and the shadow world the dead inhabit - two separate ideas.

Before you commit

Choose with care來世 means your next birth, not a place you arrive at. If you mean the world the dead go to, that is 陰間 or 冥界 - a different picture, and the two do not substitute.

At small sizesEight strokes then five, both open and symmetrical. An easy pair to ink small and stable on a curve.

Cultural note來世 is the Buddhist next birth, one turn of 輪迴, the wheel of rebirth. It stays literary and religious - in ordinary speech people say 下輩子 or 來生 instead.

Meaning

The life to come; your next birth.

The Buddhist sense - not a destination, but another turn through life.

What to do next

Pick the script and layout you want above, download the PNG, and send that file to your artist. Ask them to work from the file rather than redrawing the character freehand — that is where strokes go missing.
